Travis Scott released the album “UTOPIA” and achieved a lot of success, including the limited edition sneakers he collaborated on with Nike
After years of anticipation, Travis Scott has finally dropped his highly successful “UTOPIA” album. One standout element is the limited-edition sneakers he collaborated on with Nike.
UTOPIA has become the most streamed album on Spotify in 2023
On July 28, rapper Travis Scott released his much-awaited fourth studio album, UTOPIA. The new album features 19 tracks with collaborations from 18 artists such as Drake, Beyoncé, The Weeknd, Bad Bunny, SZA, Kid Cudi, and more.
Travis Scott set a new Spotify record with UTOPIA, officially becoming the most streamed album in a single day on the platform in 2023. While Spotify didn’t disclоse the exact number of streams, they confirmed that the rapper broke the record on the release day. Remarkably, all 19 tracks from the album secured positions 1 through 19 on the Top 20 chart on Spotify in the United States, with “MELTDOWN” claiming the top spot.
Capitalizing on this success, Travis Scott joined forces with Nike to introduce a limited-edition sneaker.
This isn’t the first time rapper Travis Scott has teamed up with Nike to release coveted sneakers that quickly sell out. Sneakerheads find it hard to resist the allure of Travis Scott and Nike collaborations, as each shoe release becomes an instant Һit.
To mark the launch of the UTOPIA album, the Houston-native rapper designed a range of intriguing promotional products, including the limited edition Nike Air Force 1 Low.
The upper part of the “UTOPIA” Air Force 1 Low is crafted from white suede, featuring original details like breathable perforations, an inner lining, and the tongue tag. Notable details include the laser-etched “UTOPIA” and “Cactus Jack” (Travis Scott’s icon) logos in earthy brown. Apart from brand details, the shoe lacks additional features.
The sneaker was released through Travis Scott Shop’s official e-commerce site and selected retailers on July 28. Almost immediately, the sneakers sold out. However, they quickly appeared on resale websites like StockX, fetching a price of $370, double the retail price.
Since Bruce Kilgore designed the Air Force 1 in 1982, Nike’s product has become immensely popular among sneakerheads, setting the standard for street style over the past four decades.
