Mayor Schaaf acknowledged Too $hort’s contributions to Oakland, stating, “You have told the stories of Oakland’s streets, so it’s only right that Oakland gives you a street.” Notable attendees at the ceremony included fellow rappers Ice Cube and Mistah F.A.B., radio host Sway, and various others.
