Rapper Snoop Dogg, who is well-known for puffing on large amounts of marijuana, disclosed that he is giving up the habit for the benefit of his family and health.
“After giving it some thought and talking to my family, I’ve made the decision to stop smoking. Snoop tweeted, “Please respect my privacy at this time,” along with the words “I’m giving up smoke,” on X, the previous Twitter platform, and Instagram.
Given Snoop’s lengthy marijuana use history, the decision may surprise some of his fans, but it appears to be motivated by a desire to provide for his family. He stated to the Daily Mail earlier this year that he want to reduce his smoking in order to spend more time with his grandchildren.
“I’ve changed in a lot of ways as a grandfather,” he said to MailOnline. “The main way is that I want to see my grandchildren grow up, so I’m concerned about how I live, how I move, and who I hang out with.”
“Taking precautions with my movements, who I hang out with, where I go out, and what I’m consuming is the only way I can achieve that,” he said. “Am I following my assigned coursework or am I also participating in extracurricular activities?”
Despite the widespread belief that smoking marijuana is safe, research has revealed that it can actually be more harmful to one’s lungs than tobacco use, leading to lung tissue scarring and damage to small blооd vessels. Many individuals who are close to Snoop have stated over the years that he smokes up to 150 joints a day, or half a pound of marijuana.
Although some of his fans have made fun of his decision, the rapper has received a lot of support from his friends and admirers.
In a recently released music video, Snoop and singer T-Pаin can be seen smoking. On X, T-Pаin provided a disclaimer, stating, “This video was shot prior to @SnoopDogg quitting smoking. Remain resilient, Unc #support.
It’s good to see Snoop Dogg openly give up smoking, especially considering his large fan base. It is hoped that this may assist people in realizing that smoking marijuana has negаtive impacts on one’s health rather than being a harmless pastime.
