Drake wowed fans when he created a show by hanging his Ferrari LaFerrari supercar in the air during a performance in Kansas
Drake pulled off an awe-inspiring stunt during his performance in Kansas that left the entire audience, including his son Adonis, in astonishment—suspending his Ferrari LaFerrari supercar in mid-air.
As the beats of “Yes Indeed” echoed through the venue during Drake’s Aubrey and the Three Amigos Tour, concertgoers were treated to a jaw-dropping sight: a Ferrari LaFerrari, identical to Drake’s signature yellow masterpiece, floating above their heads. Initially perceived as a playful and extravagant move by the rapper, the trutҺ behind this gravity-defying spectacle was more fascinating than imagined.
Contrary to speculation, the airborne luxury vehicle was not Drake’s actual multi-million-dollar LaFerrari but a meticulously crafted replica commissioned by Mr. Willo Perron, the creative director of the tour. The replica, skillfully constructed in Spain, boasted an astonishingly realistic design, resembling the rare Giallo Modena yellow exterior of Drake’s prized possession.
Crafted to be as realistic as possible, the replica Ferrari LaFerrari was, in fact, a colossal “balloon.” To achieve this surreal airborne effect, Drake’s team collaborated with Gear Factor, specialists in “flying solutions” for live events, turning the floating Ferrari into a giant drone. The backstage technicians, armed with remote control, orchestrated the movement of the “flying balloon” with precision.
The responsibility of ensuring the longevity of this spectacular performance prop throughout the three-month tour fell on TAIT, a company specializing in live event equipment. To safeguard the delicate “balloon,” TAIT ingeniously designed it slightly smaller than the genuine LaFerrari, allowing for easy storage in a heavy-duty cart to prevent any damage.
Beyond the visual spectacle, the decision to float the Ferrari LaFerrari close to the audience’s heads was a deliberate move to enhance the overall concert experience. TAIT staff emphasized that this design choice created an immersive atmosphere, making every spectator, regardless of their seat’s location, feel intimately connected to the stage.
In a fleet that boasts luxury names like Mercedes-Benz, Maybach, Rolls-Royce, Lamborghini, McLaren, and more, Drake’s staged airborne Ferrari LaFerrari stands as a testament to the rapper’s commitment to delivering not just a concert but a mesmerizing, unforgettable performance art.
