Nicki Minaj reveals Lil Wayne is also on ‘Pink Friday 2′
Finally, a release date for Lil Wayne and 2 Chainz’s new album, Welcome 2 Collegrove, has been set, and it appears that the two artists’ follow-up album will be available on the same day as Nicki Minaj’s Pink Friday 2.
Friday, October 20, saw the debut of Lil Wayne and 2 Chainz’s new track, “Presha.” The revelation that they will finally be releasing Welcome 2 Collegrove, the follow-up to their 2016 collaborative LP Collegrove, next month, goes hand in hand with the release of the new track. The precise release date is November 17, which also happens to be the day Nicki Minaj will release Pink Friday 2, her first album in five years.
Production for the initial version of the collaborative album came from Metro Boomin, TM88, Southside, Mike Will Made-It, and Zaytoven, among others. It made its Billboard 200 chart debut at number four.
Nicki originally stated that her new album will be released in October, but in June she moved the release date to November 17.
“Hello, Barbz For a few days now, I’ve been trying to figure out when to tell you this,” Nicki tweeted. “I’ve moved the album release date a little bit because of some extremely exciting news that I’ll tell you guys about later. I promise it will be worth the wait.To avoid having to become upset, I’d want to offer you guys a little SIP of some extra album tea because I am somewhat changing the date. So here it goes: ON 11.17.23, I WILL RELEASE MY NEW ALBUM, WHICH WILL BE NAMED #PinkFriday2.
