Backstage at a concert in Australia in November of last year was where Drake and Millie Bobby Brown first met. Both were fans of the other’s work, so they chatted, took some Stranger Things-themed photos (above), and bragged about the meetup on social media. It looked like an innocuous, pleasant, and entertaining collision of worlds for fans of both celebs.

However, fast forward nearly a year later, and their relationship has developed into a much Stranger Thing. Brown told Access Hollywood last week while at the Emmys about their closeness and how often they text each other.

She gushed, “I love him,” and said that he was a “excellent friend and an outstanding example.” Adding, “We just texted each other the other day and he was like ‘I miss you so much,’ and I was like ‘I miss you more,’ he’s great,” 14-year-old Brown said of her boyfriend.

It’s great that they’ve stayed in touch, and I’m sure Toronto’s favorite son has some great insights for this rising star about how to make it big in the entertainment business. I’ve always been curious as to what it would be like to have an older sibling (Brown claims they always discuss “about boys, he helps me”), but I never did until now.

Even still, it’s hard not to be a bit creeped out by the whole affair when you realize that Drizzy, at age 31, may love wooing ladies roughly half his age. According to The Daily Dot, some Twitter users have drawn comparisons between this and the allegations of manipulation and child grooming made against Brand New vocalist Jesse Lacey last year.
