Lil Durk has had a busy few weeks, which included delaying his “Almost Healed” album last month to release a collaborative single with J. Cole, titled “All My Life.” This single quickly out-streamed NBA YoungBoy’s “Richest Opp” mixtape in its entirety. Lil Durk also set a new record on the charts, marking another milestone in his career. However, the rapaper faces a somber moment this time of year.
Two years ago today, on June 6, Lil Durk’s older brother, OTF DThang, was tragically shot and killed in their home state. DThang was just 32 years old at the time. According to reports, he was fatally shot in the head outside a nightclub and died on the spot. DThang had dreams of becoming an artist like his younger brother but tragically did not live to see them fulfilled.
Lil Durk took to Instagram in the early hours of the morning to remember his late brother. He posted a heartwarming photo of DThang with the caption, “Thang way, I miss you bloody. I’ve got you smiling from up there; I’ve got you ️🩹,” promising to keep his memory alive.
In other news, Lil Durk’s highly anticipated “Almost Healed” album continues to make headlines. The album’s first-week sales were impressive, and there were reports that J. Cole made nearly $1 million for his feature on their joint track. However, J. Cole’s manager has since refuted these claims. For more hip-hop news updates, be sure to check back later.
