Lil Wayne becomes a strategic advisor and invests in the Texas pickleball team

October 24, 2023, Austin, Texas One of the eight original Major League Pickleball (MLP) clubs in the United States, the Texas Ranchers, today announced the addition of Grammy Award-winning musician Lil Wayne to the team’s ownership group in the capacity of a strategic adviser. Lil Wayne has become one of the more than thirty owners of Texas Ranchers, a group that includes influential figures from the worlds of professional sports, fashion, business, music, and entertainment.

As a strategic adviser, Lil Wayne will guide the brand to increase both local and national interest in pickleball, therefore solidifying the Texas Ranchers’ standing as America’s pickleball team. Along with helping the team establish future clothing collaborations and creative ideas, he will also endeavor to build pickleball courts in underprivileged communities.

The Ruia Family, the billionaire business tycoons who founded and own the Essar Group in India; sports commentator and former NFL player Emmanuel Acho; 8VC venture capital partner Alex Moore; real estate moguls Richard and Pam Squires; Matt Mullenweg, the Founder of WordPress; and CEO and Founder of ENTITY Academy Jennifer Schwab Wangers and CEO and Founder of Levitate Foundry Steph Liu are among the new owners added to the Ranchers’ ownership group.
